Getting here & around
By train
Dove Holes has its own railway station a 5-minute walk from the house, on the Buxton line with direct trains to Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly (about 55 min). Sheffield and the Hope Valley are reachable via a change at Stockport or by car to Edale.
By car
Dove Holes sits on the A6 between Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith. Free parking on the drive and in the garage. Manchester Airport is 45 minutes; Sheffield 45 minutes; the M60 around 40 minutes.
By bus
The High Peak 199 bus (Manchester Airport ↔ Buxton) stops in the village, as do local services to Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge and New Mills.
On foot & by bike
The Peak Forest Tramway trail runs straight through Dove Holes, connecting to the Peak District's wider walking and cycling network. Bring boots — the moors start at the end of the road.
